Novus provides high quality offender education, training and employability services, underpinned by functional English and Maths, and a path to a crime-free future.
We support over 65,000 offenders every year in the Male and Female Estate in more than 60 establishments in the North East, Yorkshire & Lincolnshire, North West, London and Kent and Sussex.
To ensure our learning and skills provision remains high quality and responsive to the offenders' needs, we have proactively engaged with a wide range of partners.
Our partners provide specialist strategic input into the delivery of our provision and give us an insight into their sector to ensure we evolve and our services remain of a high quality.
They can also deliver industry-recognised programmes within custody and support individuals ‘through the gate’ into appropriate progression opportunities.
Prison to Employment
Receiving a custodial sentence is a life-altering event, but it also represents an opportunity to change.
Novus sets offenders on the path to employment by providing high quality offender education, training and employability services, underpinned by functional English and Maths.
Ministry of Justice
The Ministry of Justice works to protect the public and reduce re-offending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.
It is responsible for courts, prisons, probation services and attendance centres, and also works in partnership with the other government departments and agencies to reform the criminal justice system, to serve the public and support the victims of crime. Novus delivers high quality learning and skills in custody through Her Majesty’s Prison Service, part of MoJ, in its public and private sector establishments.
